to Visit & Creature Comforts...
Riverton was our "home base" for some time and where we first
became involved with recreational gold prospecting. Some of our favorite
places and resources can be found here. When passing through, on your way
to pan in the South Pass area, be sure to take advantage of the good,
home-cooked meals served up by The Trailhead Restaurant in Riverton!

Fremont County
- Wyoming: A Pictorial History. By Loren
Jost. 1996. Donning Company Publishers.
This book is absolutely terrific, full of information about
the early days in Fremont County, and contains many wonderful pictures of Riverton, Lander, Dubois,
Wind River Indian Reservation, Fort Washakie and the South Pass area (South Pass City and Atlantic City).
There is a chapter dedicated to the gold rush which saw the birth of South Pass City, too.
Copies of this book can probably be obtained by emailing Mr. Loren Jost.
