Welcome to Digger's Gold Prospecting Site! During the past few years, our love of the outdoors and awe for Wyoming's wild beauty led us to explore the countryside in search of new "diggin's" and camping experiences! The Atlantic City and South Pass area is where we spent most of our time and discovered gold prospecting - it has become a most satisfying hobby and pastime as it seems to "fit" wherever we go. Can't exactly say we've "struck it rich" yet but most of the fun in recreational gold prospecting has been the activity itself - and in meeting a whole lot of great people and making new friends! The historical aspect of the Gold Rush Era and the lives of those earlier, hardy individuals is equally interesting to us - it's hard to imagine not being fascinated by South Pass City and Atlantic City!
Recently retired, we have now become full-time RV'ers and are already deep into planning our travels and new adventures. We look forward to meeting new friends and linking up with old ones along the way, too! Ok, ok... we have to admit that most of our future "camping" will now be done in a Fifth-Wheel RV instead of that leaky tent or even the old camper trailer with the bunk beds we've "loved" so much! D'ya suppose Old age = Old bones?
RV'ing the Gold Fields... As we travel (muddle) along, we plan to "follow the gold" and hope to check out a number of places (some well-known and others not-so-well-known) that have had their place in the history pages of gold rushes and gold strikes. Since we're also members of both GPAA and LDMA, we hope to spend some time at their various claim sites and attend some of the annual outings as well. Maybe we'll see you there?
If you have some travel ideas and favorite places to share, please drop us an email. We hope to compile travel/vacation information about some great prospecting places, related historical locations and experiences to share with others. And don't forget about the great restaurants, RV Parks and Campgrounds you can recommend, too! For those planning trips to Wyoming, we've already listed a few of our favorites!
